The motor is a supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 that summons 760 horsepower and 625 pound-feet of torque (plus the additional power we added)
That lap time is more staggering when you compare it to vehicles outside of the Shelby GT500’s muscle car competition. It’s within a half second of a Porsche 911 GT3 RS, and within a second of a Mercedes AMG GT R and C7 Corvette Z06.

The Eaton TVS R2650 supercharger is the evolution of the popular Twin Vortices Series (TVS) platform, which features a patented rotor coating for improved efficiency. The high-twist, four-lobe rotor design is 15 percent larger than the TVS 2300 supercharger found on the previous Shelby GT500 and features several improvements to maximize efficiency and improve performance at higher speeds.
From our experience with destroying tires, we have to give credit where credit is due. After testing out nearly every street/track tire ever made, we have finally found a winner. Goodyear Supercar 3’s are the absolute best tire we tested. Hitting corners at 65mph+, straights at over 150mph, and getting the occasional ass end out these Goodyear Super car 3’s have taken test and aced it.
Side splitters and a rear diffuser unique to the GT500 help to channel high-pressure wind around the car. Out back the GT4-style rear wing was designed for the Carbon Fiber Track Package, and adds up to 550 pounds of rear downforce at the cars 180 mph top speed.
